We are hiring a Principal Research Engineer to lead advanced security research and turn novel ideas into practical capabilities. This role is for a deep technical builder who is equally comfortable exploring emerging attack techniques, evaluating new defenses, and building production-grade prototypes that influence our roadmap.
What you will do
Lead research initiatives across offensive security, defensive engineering, AI security, cloud security, and emerging threat domains
Design and build prototypes that validate new product ideas and detection or prevention techniques
Investigate attacker tradecraft, system weaknesses, and adversary behaviors to uncover meaningful product opportunities
Partner with product and engineering leadership to translate research into scalable features
Publish internal research, technical analyses, and strategic recommendations
Mentor engineers and researchers, and raise the technical bar across the organization
What we are looking for
Extensive experience in security research, systems engineering, or advanced product engineering
Strong background in one or more of the following: operating systems internals, cloud security, networking, reverse engineering, malware analysis, detection engineering, applied cryptography, or AI security
Proven ability to move from research concept to working implementation
Strong software engineering skills and comfort building high-quality prototypes and production systems
Clear technical judgment, structured thinking, and the ability to work on ambiguous, high-impact problems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Nice to have
Public research, conference talks, patents, or open-source contributions
Experience working in threat research, security products, or elite engineering environments
Familiarity with adversary emulation, detection validation, and purple teaming
Experience evaluating the security implications of large-scale AI systems
