We are hiring an Applied AI Security Engineer to secure AI-enabled systems and apply AI to hard security problems. This role sits at the intersection of machine learning, software engineering, and cybersecurity. You will build systems that help defend modern environments while also identifying and reducing the risks introduced by AI adoption.
What you will do
Design and build security features for AI-powered products and workflows
Evaluate and mitigate risks in LLM-based applications, retrieval pipelines, agentic systems, and model integrations
Develop techniques for prompt injection defense, model abuse prevention, data leakage reduction, and secure tool use
Build AI-assisted capabilities for detection engineering, triage, investigation, threat analysis, or security automation
Partner with research, product, and platform teams to ship safe and usable AI-driven features
Create testing, monitoring, and evaluation frameworks for AI system security and reliability
What we are looking for
Strong software engineering experience in Python and modern backend systems
Practical experience with machine learning systems, LLMs, or AI application development
Strong understanding of application security and secure system design
Familiarity with common AI security failure modes such as prompt injection, data exfiltration, unsafe tool invocation, insecure retrieval, and abuse of autonomous workflows
Ability to balance speed of experimentation with sound engineering and security controls
Strong communication skills and product-oriented thinking
Nice to have
Experience with red teaming AI systems or designing AI security evaluations
Familiarity with model serving, vector databases, agent frameworks, and AI observability
Experience building security copilots, automation pipelines, or workflow orchestration systems
Background in cloud security, threat detection, or trust and safety
